I have been TV bingeing, to put it in the slightest form, and I can't help but be extremely besotted by Lipstick Jungle. I don't know how many of you have seen it, much even heard about it, or even read the book.
Currently in its 2nd season, (which seems to be escalating in terms of its plot) I find the story very interesting. That, and that character Kirby Atwood is played by a very dashing young man. That helps too.
What is that. 1, 2, 3, 4 .. oh dear I've lost count. WASHBOARD.
If you're a man, and your partner/girlfriend/friend asks you to watch it with her, I can understand the threat that gleams under your skin and the shudder that reverberates through your spine at the very thought of sitting through 40 minutes of literal 'Lipstick Jungle'.
Not too long ago, I asked a male friend of mine, (mind you he's the quintessential alpha male), 'Hey do you watch Lipstick Jungle?"
The phone line was being a little fidgety, and inter-atlantic calls don't exactly connect at impeccable quality; he didn't quite hear what I had said. And when he clearly heard the defining words of the series, before even probing into what/who/when and your regular questions, he balked and said "Are you kidding me?"
To think back, I don't even know why I even asked him. This is an exemplar of a redundancy.
So really if you hate female massacre movies like that, then steer away. But if you secretly watch One Tree Hill without telling your rugby mates, then I suggest kudos.
On a totally unrelated note, I litted up a cigar last night.
Well, my dad bought it for me at the duty free at RM100 bucks per stick, and it tasted so saturated I felt like choking after 3 puffs. I like cigars, but no, this one is like a coagulated churn of tobaccos wrapped in a leaf. I had to brush my teeth after it to get the choking taste off. Horrid.
Maybe if I had a couple of tipples, I would have thought differently but heck now I'm left with a stick I don't want to smoke. Bin it or keep it? Well more to worry than a cigar stick at the moment.
I have a phone interview on Monday and my preparation thus far is zilch. Procrastination took the better of me, to be fair I was engrossed in a book. I am currently reading 'The Undercover Economist' by Tim Harford. I'm halfway through the book, and really to summarize its really just 'Supply and Demand'.
ARGH, I need to stop slugging.
